MWM EP. 60 – Why “Just Hire More Creators” Is the Wrong Brand Move with Aja Dang

About the episode

After a decade as a creator. Aja Dang has thoughts on where brand-creator relationships go next: brands become the creator.

Aja joins Mike for a candid conversation about why a 10-year creator is now pitching brands on becoming their own creator, how a December 2017 debt-reveal video became a 23-month $200,000 payoff series and the launch of MSTRPLN, why she walks away from AI brand deals on principle, and where the creator-versus-business-end split inside a brand actually breaks. She’s in her own pivot era, naming what she sees from inside the creator seat: the future of content isn’t more creator deals, it’s brands learning to make their own.
